"We need YOUR help to stop this attack! On March 2nd Wisconsin legislators introduced a pair of bills banning trans youth from participating in sports. Recently these bills were assigned to committees:
AB195- Assembly Committee on Colleges and Universities.
AB196 – Assembly Committee on Education.
AB 196 & AB 195 unfairly target transgender youth and are part of a nationwide wave of similar bills that attack transgender youth and spread lies about transgender people. Being a kid is hard enough. We don’t need politicians making it even harder for kids who are transgender. Banning transgender students from participating in sports sends a dangerous message and increases the risks to their physical and emotional well-being.

As we all continue to face hardship from COVID-19, we need our lawmakers to pay attention to issues that matter—not look for ways to make life harder for transgender youth.

My name is ______, my pronouns are ______, and I am a Wisconsin resident. I am incredibly concerned about bills AB195 and AB196 which would effectiviely ban transgender and nonbinary youth from participating on safe and welcoming sports teams.
All youth deserve to play on sports teams that best align with their gender; trans* youth are not an exception. Biological sex does not determine athletic ability nor are transgender individuals more likely than their cisgender peers to be violent. These bills, having no scientific backing, are simply assaults on transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive youths' rights. I urge you to vote against these bills and to use your position to encourage your colleagues to do the same.

Mi nombre es ______, mi pronombe es __, y soy un residente de Wisconsin. Yo estoy increíblemente preocupadx sobre las leyes AB195 y AB196 que prohibirían efectivamente que los jóvenes transgéneros y no-binarios participen con seguridad y que sean bienvenidos a equipos de deportes.
Todos los jóvenes tienen el derecho de pertenecer a los equipos de deportes que mejor se alineen con su género y lxs jóvenes trans no son una excepción. Le urjo a que vote en contra de estas leyes y que use su posición para animar a sus colegas de hacer lo mismo.
